Talk: Main Page

So maybe as a start we should be importing Wikipedia Articles?

Also how do we make the Wikia look more punk. E.G. the Star Trek and Star Wars Wikia's are different colors ect.... What can we do so it's not black type of white page...?

Yeah, importing from Wikipedia tends to be what people do around here... Creating original material is preferred, at least by me, but we'll take what we can. If you're gonna be just copying and pasting stuff from Wikipedia, do try to take out irrelevant linking and pictures that we don't have. As for making the layout different colors, I agree that it should be spiffed up, but I have no idea how to do that... -_- --Mymindislost 02:11, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I've got a rough idea, but that would involve a lot of work, such as experimenting with the HTML coding of the stuff in the MediaWiki: namespace. And yes, importing from wikipedia is a start, but as MMIL said, I would prefer original stuff. Stolen information is better than no information though StijnX 10:43, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I've found out how to do it, all I need is someone to figure out a good colour scheme since I'm crap at that, and I need to find out how to change the main body of the pages and the sidebar but that won't be too hard, just look at page source lol, anyways StijnX 18:26, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Main Page overhaul

I'd like some ideas as to what you guys think that the main page should look like and what should be in it, we could have a featured article, but we'd need a few more in order to implement a regularly changing one. A list of links: perhaps, but which ones. I was thinking to possibly have a list of the main subgenres with a couple of pictures, perhaps illustrating the more important ones. What do you think?
